The first comprehensive data regarding the effectiveness of booster shots by age in the U.S. was recently published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and confirms that older adults benefit more from booster doses than younger Americans. Covid-19 vaccinations decrease the risk of hospitalization and death to such a major extent that booster shots do not seem to add much benefit. However, this data was collected when the Omicron variant had just begun to surge through America, so it’s entirely possible that the booster shots may have helped limit the extent to which it spread.
